Shyam Raman To Serve as DPVA’s Next Executive Director

Richmond, VA – Shyam Raman, current Political Director, and long-time member of the DPVA team will serve as the next Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Virginia. Chairwoman Susan Swecker released the following statement on his hiring.

“I am excited to announce our very own Shyam Raman as the next Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Virginia. For the past seven years, Shyam has been a crucial element of the successes DPVA has had. He is a fierce fighter for Democratic values, and I am confident that he will help lead our Party to new heights,” said DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker.

“I am honored to be the new Executive Director of DPVA. Since I joined DPVA in 2015 as the Deputy Data Director, and for the past 5 years as Political Director, I have had the privilege of working with Virginia Democrats from every part of our Commonwealth. Virginia is my home, and I am excited to continue working to elect Democrats up and down the ballot,” said Shyam Raman.

DPVA Chairwoman Swecker continued, “At such a crucial time for Virginians, we need someone with the experience of electing Democrats that Shyam has, and am excited to see where he takes this Party. I’d also like to thank our outgoing Executive Director Andrew Whitley for his service and dedication to our Party. He brought our Party to a new level in his tenure, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”
