Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia Endorses Aaron Rouse for Virginia State Senate
RICHMOND, VA – Today, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia (PPAV) announced its endorsement of Aaron Rouse for Virginia’s 7th Senate District. As an at-large member of the Virginia Beach City Council, Rouse has earned a reputation as a strong presence who fights for issues that impact the people of Virginia Beach, including defending reproductive rights. His opponent, Kevin Adams, is an extremist who wants to ban abortion. Adams also has ties to “crisis pregnancy centers” (CPCs), which are anti-abortion organizations known to lie and deceive patients and are considered “unethical” by the American Medical Association Journal of Ethics.
If elected, Aaron Rouse will champion reproductive freedom — including access to abortion, affordable birth control, and the full spectrum of reproductive care — and fight back against any attempt to roll back Virginians’ rights.
In contrast, Kevin Adams is a danger to Virginians’ health and rights. With Governor Youngkin pursuing an abortion ban, we cannot afford to have Kevin Adams, who said he would support this ban, in the Senate.
The Special Election takes place on January 10, 2023.
