Former Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA02) has proven herself over many years to be a hero and a champion in support of our country, our constitution and our democracy. From her service in the U.S. Navy to her service in Congress, including on the January 6th select committee, Luria has been a profile in service and in courage.
Now, Luria’s continuing her work to protect our democracy from assaults by the Trumpist far right, with the launch of her “Defend Democracy PAC” aimed at “increas[ing] the number of Democratic seats in the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates and support candidates up and down the ballot in the Commonwealth.” As the PAC website explains:
“From fighting against dangerous election conspiracies and protecting reproductive rights to ending gun violence and creating good paying jobs, there is too much at stake in Virginia. Now is the time to invest in Democratic candidates up and down the ballot and growing the number of Democrats in the Virginia House of Delegates and the Senate.”
