Aird Launches Second TV Ad of 2023, Emphasizing Importance of Lowering Healthcare Costs, Increasing Community Safety, Supporting Public Schools, and Protecting Reproductive Rights

PETERSBURG, VA — Today, Lashrecse Aird, candidate for Senate District 13, released her second television ad for the primary election campaign. Centered on one of the Aird family’s game nights, the ad underscores Lashrecse’s commitment to her family and the important part they play in her role as a legislator and candidate. Aird highlights her work as a Delegate to lower the cost of healthcare, and promises to address community safety, public school funding, and reproductive rights in the State Senate.

Aird released the following statement about the ad:

“This campaign – and every campaign I’ve run throughout my career – has always been about more than just me. As a mother to school age boys, as a wife, neighbor, and as a community member, politics has always been an avenue to serve. I do not come from privilege, and every day as I knock on doors or walk the halls of the General Assembly, I keep the memories of that vulnerability close to my heart and strive to improve the lives of those who experience that same vulnerability. I am proud to have my family join me as I share my vision for the 13th Senate District.”

Transcript:

Lashrecse: Every family has traditions. This is ours.

…And I like to win.

Blake: No way! Not tonight, mom.

Lashrecse: We got some big wins when I was in the legislature.

Like making healthcare more affordable.

In the Senate, we’ll make neighborhoods safer and public schools stronger.

And when Republicans came after our reproductive rights.

Blaine Sr.: You blocked them.

Blake: Boom! Check that out, mom.

Lashrecse: Oh, it’s not over yet.
