Video Released of Joe Morrissey Exclaiming: “I’m Proud to Vote Pro-Life and I will Side with Republicans in the Future on this Issue.”

PETERSBURG, VA — Today, Lashrecse Aird, candidate for Senate District 13, released a digital ad revealing Senator Joe Morrissey, in his own words declaring his position on abortion rights. Throughout last week, Senator Joe Morrissey’s campaign authorized a digital ad and mail piece accusing Lashrecse Aird of lying about his position on abortion and his anti-abortion voting record. The ad is running on YouTube, paid digital tv channels and social media.

Aird released the statement below following the rollout:

“While my opponent proclaims he is pro-life and it doesn’t hurt him, it does stand to hurt the voters of SD-13. As Black and Brown women continue to die at higher rates than anyone else as a result of the maternal mortality crisis, and the Governor doubles down on his plan to ban reproductive access, it deeply upsets me listening to the comments made by my opponent. Real people are fearful about the rapid deterioration of reproductive rights so, while he is playing a political game with the lives of Virginians, I refuse to allow Joe to misrepresent his position and deceive voters during a critical time such as this.”
