After Ohio, “Abortion’s Next Big Battleground Is Virginia” – Early Voting Starts in Just 31 Days!

From the VA House Dems’s communications director, Morgan Hopkins:

…wanted to make sure you saw the latest from Axios’ Caitlin Owens dubbing Virginia the next major battleground for abortion access following the special election in Ohio earlier this month. Virginia is the lone southern state that hasn’t banned or restricted abortion since the fall of Roe. The question of abortion access in the Commonwealth can come down to 2-3 very close races this November.

In the piece, House Democratic Caucus Leader Don Scott is quoted saying, “That referendum [in Ohio] showed that abortion is absolutely a motivating factor for voters across the country. Access to reproductive health care will be the number one motivating factor for the [Virginia] election.”

Note that although election day is 77 days from now, early voting starts in just 31 days, on September 22. So…time to crank it up (and by “it,” I mean volunteering, donations, you name it).

P.S. There are also MANY other crucial issues on the ballot, from voting rights to the climate crisis to LGBTQ equality to gun violence prevention to…you name it, pretty much.  So make sure you vote Democratic, up and down the ballot, and remind everyone you know to do the same!
