From the Josh Cole for Delegate campaign:
JOSHUA COLE LAUNCHES CONTRAST AD ON ABORTION
The new ad compares Cole’s pro-choice stance with Lee Peter’s anti-choice extremism
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Today, Joshua Cole’s campaign announced a new six-figure ad buy on cable and broadcast. The spot, titled “Business,” highlights a key difference that has emerged in the race for Virginia’s 65th House District. While Cole has been an outspoken advocate for women’s rights to make their own healthcare decisions, Republican Lee Peters has come out in support of an abortion ban. In the new ad, Cole makes clear: when it comes to a woman’s reproductive choices, “Government has no business in her personal business.”
In the recent debate between Cole and Peters, Peters even went so far as to say “Everybody is not concerned or worried about women’s rights,” downplaying this issue while abortion is banned in states across the country. Virginia is now the last remaining state in the South that has not passed an abortion ban since Roe v. Wade was overturned last year. Despite this, Peters was recently caught lying about where Virginians are on this issue, despite their overwhelming opposition to a ban.
The ad will run on cable and broadcast networks in the district.
