Video: On “The View,” Vice President Kamala Harris Talks Threat to Democracy, Fundamental Freedoms

Today, Vice President Kamala Harris joined The View where she laid out a clear case directly to the American people about what’s at stake in this election: “The freedom of a woman to make decisions about her own body. The freedom to love who you love, openly and with pride. The freedom to be able to be free from gun violence. These are fundamental freedoms that are at stake right now.”The vice president continued, “We will not have the kind of quality of life that I think most people want without fundamental freedoms and the rights that are guaranteed in our Constitution and the ideals upon which we were founded, and all of that is very much at stake. We’ve got a guy right now – the former president – running for office openly saying that he promises to essentially be a dictator. A person running to enter back into the White House who is ‘proud’ that he stripped America’s women of the right to make decisions about their own body. A person running to become the commander in chief who is admitting he would weaponize the Department of Justice.” 

The interview comes ahead of Vice President Harris kicking off her official reproductive freedoms tour on January 22, the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, where she will continue fighting back against the GOP’s extreme attacks on women’s health care access throughout America.
