After Hung Cao Argues That Voters Want “Hard Men,” “Alpha Males,” “Meat Eaters,” Sen. Tim Kaine’s Communications Director Responds, “‘Hard men’ don’t duck debates”

Spot-on by the Tim Kaine for Senate campaign’s communications director, Michael Beyer about GOP nominee Hung Cao:

“Hard men” don’t duck debates. Senator Kaine was looking forward to debating his opponent this Saturday but is not surprised that he decided to hide from voters instead.

If you don’t show up for Virginians, people know you won’t stand up for them

Also note that when Cao rhapsodizes “hard men,” “alpha males,” “meat eaters,” etc., what he’s really doing is arguing AGAINST kindness, compassion, empathy, reason, wisdom (while also being tough/tenacious, resilient, etc.) – all of which Tim Kaine embodies – and arguing FOR cruelty, harshness, ignorance, authoritarianism, dictatorship, even fascism.  The choice in this election, in other words, is as stark as is humanly possible. In a sane world, Tim Kaine would win 100%-0%, but since we don’t live in a completely sane world, let’s shoot for a Kaine win by 10, 15 points (at least)?
