I refuse to link to Sinclair/WJLA7, and nobody should ever watch it because it’s right-wing propaganda and most definitely NOT real news. But with that caveat, here’s DPVA’s press release on last night’s debate on that execrable station (and yes, their questions were heavily biased, but VA10 Democratic nominee Suhas Subramanyam won anyway, because he’s infinitely better than his Republican opponent, Mike Clancy)…

Hey @MikeClancyVA, your desperate attempts to distance yourself from Project 2025 aren’t working…..

On Debate Stage, Mike Clancy Couldn’t Run Away From His Project 2025 and Heritage Foundation Ties
VA-10 Republican nominee Mike Clancy has made desperate attempts to hide his ties to the Heritage Foundation-authored Project 2025, the extreme playbook that would undermine working families, fire civil servants and decimate Northern Virginia’s economy. Mr. Clancy thought Virginians wouldn’t notice when he scrubbed his website to remove the fact that he was a member of the Heritage Foundation.
But last night during a WJLA debate, VA-10 Democratic nominee Suhas Subramanyam didn’t let Clancy get away with it:
“My opponent actually put on his website that he was a member of the Heritage Foundation and then took it off, curiously, as soon as Project 2025 became unpopular. But if you look at Project 2025, it actually is his agenda, because you’re looking at the cuts he is going to make, like Medicare for seniors and veterans, and maybe you don’t like the branding, but the reality is, my opponent was a member of the Heritage Foundation….how could you not know about Project 2025 then?”
“….Every time I mention that he was a member of the Heritage Foundation, he calls it fear mongering, I call it the truth because right up until the primary, he had it on his website, every time he was introduced, he had said that he was a member of the Heritage Foundation. As a contributor on the far-right Newmax, he was always introduced as a member of the Heritage Foundation and proudly wore that badge of honor to him.”
Reminder: Mike Clancy and Project 2025 are bad for Northern Virginia’s economy
- Outlined in the Trump-Vance campaign platform (Agenda 47) and in Project 2025, they plan to bring back Schedule F, which would strip civil servants of protections and make it easier to fire and replace career federal employees.
- In their agenda, he wants to move jobs “out of Washington to places filled with patriots who love America.”
- This threatens the jobs of the 140,000 Virginians who serve in agencies across the federal government, some of which are also located in Virginia.
- Vance has also said before that he wants to “fire every civil servant.”
- Virginia’s economy would suffer tremendously, and Virginians would lose their jobs, healthcare, and benefits.
