DUMFRIES – Today, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senator Mark Warner, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger, and Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates Don Scott campaigned for VA-07 Democratic nominee Eugene Vindman and the Harris-Walz-Kaine ticket in Prince William County in the home stretch of the 2024 election.

Jeffries, Warner, Spanberger, and Scott were joined by PWC Supervisor Andrea Bailey, Republican former Congresswoman Barbara Comstock, and numerous elected leaders to rally supporters for Vindman, highlighting his fight to protect democracy, lower costs, and protect our freedoms. They also emphasized the importance of winning back control of the U.S. House, essential for advancing policies that support working families, protect reproductive freedom, and expand access to affordable healthcare.

“We want to move the country forward. The MAGA extremists, like Eugene’s opponent, want to turn back the clock. We want to bring people together. They’re trying to tear us apart. We want to bring about progress and an opportunity economy for the American people. They want to jam Trump’s Project 2025 down the throats of the American people,” said House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries. “We know that Project 2025 will go after hard working public employees of the federal government. Project 2025 will criminalize abortion care, impose a nationwide ban. […] Project 2025 will abolish the Department of Education and Medicare as we know it, cut veterans’ benefits. One of the reasons why we need to elect Eugene Vindman, why we need to flip control of the House of Representatives, is we are going to stop Project 2025 dead in its tracks.”

“I came to this country as an immigrant […] and we had less than $800 in our pocket when we came here, but we had each other and the American Dream. And I’m proud to say that 40 something years later, I, my wife, my kids are an example of the American Dream, and that’s what we want to preserve for all our families in this district and around the country, and that’s really what’s at stake this election,” said VA-07 Democratic nominee Eugene Vindman.

“We have Eugene Vindman, somebody who’s an American hero,” said U.S. Senator Mark Warner. “And Vice President Harris is going to be a great president in terms of a domestic agenda, and someone that we are going to be proud to call our commander-in-chief.”

“This is personal for me, because when we flipped the Seventh District in 2018, people didn’t think we could do it, and it was because we knocked doors and made phone calls and worked the polls and wrote postcards and believed that we flipped a district that hadn’t elected a Democrat since 1968,” said Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger. “It’s personal to me that the man who wins continues representing with pride, with dignity, with respect not only for you all, but also with respect for the Constitution. And so I am so grateful that Eugene Vindman has stepped forward.”

“I’m so proud, so proud to support [Eugene Vindman]. He is a veteran. He has a heart of service. He stood up to bullies. We need somebody in this moment, in this time, who will stand up to Trump, stand up to MAGA, stand up to the bullies. And that’s what Eugene Vindman is,” said Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates Don Scott.
