“Standing up here today are public servants who might disagree about the size of government or this or that tax rate, but what we do agree on — which makes the other issues seem so inconsequential — is that our country should live up to the promises of freedom and justice for all that America was founded on,” said Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton. “That in a democracy, every person’s vote counts, and that character still matters, and we’re going to fight like hell to make sure that someone who has no regard for the rule of law and threatens the future of our democracy, Donald Trump, does not get back into the White House.”
“This is about democracy. This is about putting country first. That is why Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger and over 200 national security conservatives who worked in the Bush, Reagan, [George W.] Bush administrations, people who worked for Governor Romney, who worked with John McCain, all these people have come together to support the Vice President, who said she wants us at the table. She’s going to put a Republican in the cabinet. Well, Donald Trump wants to put us Republicans on trial and attack us,” said former Congresswoman Barbara Comstock. “But now [Donald Trump] is saying he doesn’t like the CHIPS Act, which, of course, is great for Virginia, and we support it. […] That’s something we want here in Virginia. This is 21st century economy and it’s not just that Donald Trump and a lot of his friends want to take us all back to the 1950s […] He wants to take our economy back.”
“We have an amazing ticket. We have people who are talking about unifying our country, who are talking about reaching across the aisle to get things done, and Tim Kaine and Kamala Harris have done that throughout their career,” said State Senator Suhas Subramanyam. “And even throughout my own career, I have done that as well, and we’re doing that because it’s what’s best for our country, because that’s what we care about most. We care about our community. We care about every single American, every single Virginian.”
“It’s truly an honor and a privilege to be standing here with colleagues and friends united, united under a positive message of country first, USA first. […] I’m a conservative. Always been, still am, and always will be. But as a conservative, I walked to the polls today and I voted for Kamala Harris for President,” said former State Delegate David Ramadan. “As a conservative, I walked to the polls earlier today in South Riding and voted for Tim Kaine for Senate. And as a conservative, I walked in and I voted for Suhas Subramanyam for Congress.”
“We stand up here today shoulder to shoulder with Democrats and Republicans across the country, […] who are standing together, [..] united for a cause that is greater than each and every one of us,” said State Senator Russet Perry. “And that’s to stand up to protect our democracy, fight for the values and the fundamental freedoms of this country and to make sure that on November 6, the democracy in the greatest country in the world continues to stand.”
