Vice President Harris Releases Patriotic Two-Minute Closing Ad – “Brighter Future” – That Centers On The American People, Not Herself, As She Pledges To Be A President For All Americans

Set To Air Nationally During 1pm ET Slate Of NFL Games On CBS, FOX Nationally During “America’s Game Of The Week” Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions

Harris: “Together, We Will Build A Brighter Future For Our Nation, Where We Stand For Freedom, We Stand For Justice, We Stand For The Dignity Of Work.”

Harris: “I Pledge To Seek Common Sense Solutions To Make Your Life Better… I Pledge To Be A President For All Americans… And Now, I’m Asking For Your Vote.”

In the powerful, optimistic, and patriotic two-minute final ad of her campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris pledges to be “a President for all Americans” and promises to “build a brighter future for our nation.” The message is an extension of her closing argument speech on the Ellipse and stands in stark contrast with what voters are seeing from Donald Trump at the end of his campaign. While the Vice President’s closing message centers the American people and their hopes and dreams, Donald Trump has spent the final days of this campaign showing himself to be increasingly unhinged, unstable, and obsessively focused on himself as he attacks his fellow Americans as “the enemy from within” and threatens to further divide America.

Vice President Harris’s priorities – from lowering the costs of groceries, housing, and health care, to spurring small business growth, to restoring reproductive freedom – are rooted in the personal interactions she has had with Americans from all walks of life and from all corners of the country – personal touches that show her deep connection to the American people and are featured in the new ad. “Throughout this campaign, I’ve seen the best of America,” she says. “The vast majority of people in our country have so much more in common than what separates them. Good people, hard working people. We see in our fellow Americans neighbors, not enemies. We believe in each other, we believe in our country. We’re not falling for these folks who are trying to divide us.”

Harris tells the American people: “You deserve better” than “politics that have driven fear and division,” as she lays out her laser focus on their needs: bringing down costs, protecting people’s health care, and fighting for people to have the freedom to make their own choices.

These themes have been central to the close of Harris’ campaign, as she outlined in her closing argument speech Tuesday in Washington, where she pledged “to always put country above party and above self,” because “I love our country with all my heart, and I believe in its promise.” This patriotic message is core to who the Vice President is, and it is why she has built a broad and diverse coalition of support in this race, including historic cross-party Republican support ready to turn the page on Donald Trump.

The final ad comes as Harris is earning the support of late-deciding voters over Trump and serves as a final message to Americans as they decide whether to vote or who to support on Tuesday. The campaign’s research shows that the last week has proven decisive in cementing the choice in this election with both undecided and lower-propensity voters. The closing argument splitscreen of Madison Square Garden and its fallout against the Ellipse has broken through and crystallized the choice for this slice of the electorate.

This ad’s placement – airing Sunday afternoon during NFL games on CBS and FOX, including “America’s Game of the Week” between the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions – aims to reach those voters and builds on other high-profile events designed to break through a crowded media environment, like her rally in Houston and last week’s closing argument speech at the Ellipse.

Brighter Future” bookends the campaign’s historic, $370 million paid media campaign through Election Day. In the final days of the campaign, the campaign’s paid media program has focused on core, motivating issues to undecided voters, including reproductive rights and plans to lower costs and create opportunity for the middle class.

TRANSCRIPT

HANNAH: My name’s Hannah

VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS: Come here Hannah, shake my hand. How you doing?

HANNAH: Good!

WOMAN: Bring everybody back together

VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS: And that’s exactly how I feel

MAN: That’s how I’m doing ma’am

VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS: OK you have to stay in touch with me, OK? I’m very serious about that

MAN: I’d love to

VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS: Throughout this campaign, I’ve seen the best of America, and I’ve seen what is holding you back and weighing you down.

High costs, fundamental rights taken away, and politics that have driven fear and division.

You deserve better.

As President, I will bring a new generation of leadership. I’ll take on price gouging and bring down the cost of groceries, and housing, and prescriptions.

I’ll fight for your freedom to make your own choices, and I will protect your health care and your benefits, not take them away.

The vast majority of people in our country have so much more in common than what separates them. Good people, hardworking people.

We see in our fellow Americans neighbors, not enemies.

We believe in each other, we believe in our country. We’re not falling for these folks who are trying to divide us.

Together, we will build a brighter future for our nation, where we stand for freedom, we stand for justice, we stand for the dignity of work.

We haven’t yet quite reached all of those ideals, but we will die trying because we love our country.

Now, the baton is in our hands.

I pledge to seek common sense solutions to make your life better.

And I pledge to be a President for all Americans.

Now, I’m asking for your vote.

Because as President, I will get up every day and fight for the American people.

I’m Kamala Harris and I approve this message.
