RICHMOND, Va. — The Spanberger for Governor campaign today released a new digital ad, criticizing Winsome Earle-Sears for putting loyalty to Donald Trump first, ahead of what’s best for Virginia’s workforce and economy as Virginians continue to suffer from Trump’s firing of thousands of Virginians.
The ad, titled “Real Issues,” highlights a Friday CNN interview, during which Sears refused to answer questions about her support for the Trump Administration’s firing of Virginia workers. Sears said she was “not going to participate” in discussions about Virginians losing their livelihoods and wanted to talk about “real issues.”
Starting today, the ad will be targeted to thousands of households across Northern Virginia.
In contrast, Abigail Spanberger has consistently warned that the Trump Administration’s reckless actions are hurting Virginia families and businesses — including in a Fox News op-ed last month. Spanberger also recently announced her “Growing Virginia Plan,” which is focused on boosting Virginia’s economy, protecting Virginia jobs, and creating opportunities for the next generation of Virginians.

BACKGROUND
Winsome Earle-Sears has repeatedly supported the Trump Administration’s attacks on Virginia jobs and dismissed the concerns of Virginians worried about their livelihoods.
- Earlier this year when discussing the cuts, she was caught on tape saying “the media is making it out to be a huge, huge thing… and I don’t understand why.”
- When asked what she would say to concerned Virginia workers and their families, Sears told Virginians facing layoffs “don’t fret.”
- As DOGE began hurting Virginia’s economy earlier this year, Sears said “I’m supporting what the President is doing.”
