THE KIGGANS TWO-STEP: Jen Kiggans Promises Virginians One Thing, Only to Fold and Vote Against Them
Kiggans’ public comments don’t match her voting record
Jen Kiggans must think she can fool Virginians.
The vulnerable Republican congresswoman continues to promise her constituents one thing in public, only to turn around and vote the other way in Washington.
EXAMPLE #1: Kiggans lied when she promised to protect Medicaid.
Kiggans spent weeks touting her alleged concerns about Republicans’ plan to gut Medicaid and put rural hospitals at risk.
EXAMPLE #3: Kiggans is lying about extending ACA tax credits.
Kiggans is trying to gain credit for an effort to extend health care tax credits, but has admitted publicly that she won’t put up a fight with her own party if she fails to advance her proposed legislation in government funding negotiations.
Kiggans has also openly admitted that she opposes extending the ACA tax credits beyond just one year, telling Punchbowl News: “We don’t need these.”
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Congresswoman Jen Kiggans has come to represent everything voters hate about D.C. politicians: she says one thing in public, only to fold and vote to hurt Virginians every chance she gets. Voters will hold Kiggans accountable for her voting record, not her empty deceptive rhetoric.”
