Sen. Mark Warner Says the Fact That Pete Hegseth’s “still there is an embarassment”; Rep. Eugene Vindman (D-VA07) Says Hegseth Exemplifies Trump Administration’s “two overwhelming characteristics…malice and incompetence”

See below for reactions by Sen. Mark Warner and Rep. Eugene Vindman (D-VA07) to the latest lunacy by Pete Hegseth et al. First, Sen. Warner says:

“While were gathering with family and friends…we still live in the greatest country in the world, [but] we continue to hear that country’s reputation being besmirched. These reports about Pete Hegseth potentially ordering a second lethal strike; what kind of symbol does that send about America? I obviously have called for Pete Hegseth to be fired since early in the days of Signalgate; the fact that he’s still there is an embarassment. As well, we have this constant buildup of military forces off Venezuela’s coast. And again, I can tell you, there is no authorization for the president to do anything around Venezuela. We live in a great country, but that great country has to be built on values and principles; those are not the values and principles that this administration exhibits virtually ever.”

Next, here’s Rep. Eugene Vindman (D-VA07) pointing out, correctly, that “there are two overwhelming characteristics of the Trump Administration: malice and incompetence”; and that Hegseth “is a textbook example of both.” Bingo!

Vindman Demands Hegseth Release Unredacted Radio Communications & Strike Footage Following Reports of Illegal Orders

Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Eugene Vindman (Va.-07) released the following statement following reports that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth authorized a strike to kill all survivors of one of the Trump administration’s attacks on boats allegedly carrying drugs in international waters.

“Secretary Signalgate, Pete Hegseth, owes the American people answers, and I demand a full Congressional investigation to get them. Congress needs immediate access to the unredacted video of the strike as well as the radio communications tied to the orders that were given.

“When I last spoke with Secretary Hegseth, he couldn’t answer basic questions about our military. Now, he is directing unauthorized and likely illegal military operations against Venezuela without the consent of Congress.

“Unqualified, incompetent Secretary Hegseth will be held accountable for issuing illegal orders. Congress will get to the bottom of this.”
