Alexandria, VA — Today, Mark Warner and Tim Kaine announced their support for former Representative Elaine Luria and former Representative Tom Perriello, citing their proven judgment and steady leadership on national security.
With global threats intensifying, America’s credibility under global fire, and the armed forces strained by chaos at the top of the Defense Department, Warner and Kaine stressed the urgent need for members of Congress with real national security experience and the judgment to navigate a volatile moment.
“Every day that Pete Hegseth remains Secretary of Defense, the United States is less safe,” said Mark Warner. “We need folks in Congress who know how to conduct oversight and are willing to hold this administration accountable. Elaine Luria is just that person. I have served with Elaine in the past and have seen her commitment to a strong, apolitical military. I know she will deliver for Hampton Roads.”
