In politics, you should never take anything for granted, but obviously Sen. Mark Warner is the overwhelming favorite for the Democratic nomination in 2026, and also to be reelected next November over whichever right-wing extremist (e.g., Bryce “Taking Dems to the Train Station” Reeves) the Republicans nominate.

Virginia’s senior Senator and top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee seeks reelection to continue his fight to lower costs and prepare Virginia for the economy of the future

Alexandria, VA — Today, Mark Warner announced his campaign for reelection to the United States Senate.

In a launch video, Warner details his agenda for his next term in office: confronting the dramatic changes coming to our economy with the rapid growth of AI while continuing his fight to lower costs and expand access to health care.

“If you think we’ve seen massive technological innovations in the last two decades, just wait until you see what’s coming next,” said Warner. “America has never been afraid of the future, and we don’t need to start now. These challenges also present a massive opportunity. Instead of being paralyzed by fear – or worse, making futile attempts to turn back the clock – we can make sure that innovation helps everyone get a fair shot at the American Dream.”

“That starts by building an economy that rewards work, not just wealth.”

Warner has a unique resume to tackle the challenges facing Virginia and our country next: As a tech entrepreneur, he cofounded Nextel, which became a top telecommunications company. As Governor, he worked with a legislature where Republicans held a two-to-one majority to turn a record budget shortfall into a surplus, earning Virginia national recognition as the “Best Managed State” and the “Best State for Business.” In the Senate, Warner has been a prolific lawmaker, writing and sponsoring 85 bills that have been signed into law by both Democratic and Republican presidents.
