Wow, $700,000 in three weeks? That is incredibly impressive by former Rep. Tom Perriello (D-VA05), who is vying to take on insurrectionist, extremist, Trump bootlicker and incompetent buffoon Rep. John McGuire (R-VA05) this November. For comparison, the insurrectionist (McGuire) had only $227k cash on hand as of his last reporting period (ending 9/30/25), having raised just $154k in the third quarter of 2025. So in just three weeks, Perriello has blown that out of the water, just as hopefully McGuire’s pathetic political career will be blown out of the water in November.

| CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Less than a month after launching his Congressional campaign, former Congressman and diplomat Tom Perriello announced having raised more than $700,000 from supporters of his challenge to incumbent Rep. John McGuire for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District. This record-breaking launch — including key endorsements from grassroots and establishment leaders — demonstrates the campaign’s incredible momentum.
“I’m totally blown away by this flood of support, and I am hearing how fed up people around here are with Rep. McGuire hiding from voters and refusing to give us a reason for his votes to make us all pay more for healthcare and groceries,” Perriello said. “More than 1,000 people across the district have stepped up to volunteer and contribute, because we deserve a Representative who puts in the work to listen and represent the hardworking people who have not had a voice in Washington.” During his time in Congress, Perriello conducted over 100 hours of town hall meetings in every corner of Virginia’s 5th District, and, since launching the campaign, has been sitting down with community leaders and organizations across Central and Southside Virginia. This successful first quarter adds to the momentum generated by early endorsements from Virginia’s Senators, Tim Kaine and Mark Warner; and local leaders in Southside.
