See below for video and a few highlights from Rep. Eugene Vindman (D-VA07)’s appearance last night in MSNOW’s “The Last Word”:
- Rep. Vindman: “This administration is winging it. It sounds pretty bad, because it is. I don’t think they have a plan. They certainly don’t know the consequences of their actions…When will this end, what is the purposes of this mission?”
- Rep. Vindman: “Look, I will tell you Mike Johnson has a problem. You saw the commentary by Lauren Boebert…Not the only one. In fact, I’ve had conversations with Republicans in private that have told me that boots on the ground is a red line for them. Now, whether they follow through on that obviously is a real question…[Most Republicans go along with Trump] because they’re scared. But also, they don’t know what it means to hold the president accountable. This president right now is conducting, this is the eighth conflict that he’s involved the United States in in just the last 14 months…I think he was lying both times actually [about supposedly obliterating Iran’s nuclear program]. And what he did, what we know he clearly lied about was that he was not going to involve us in Middle East conflicts. He is doing that right now. And he said he was going to concentrate on lowering costs for the American people. That is absolutely not the case. In fact, this war has spiked gas prices for the American people. Farmers right now in in planting season are paying more for fertilizer…And I sit on the agriculture committee in addition to armed services. And so I know that after the war in Ukraine started, the input costs, fertilizer costs increased for farmers. And now on top of that, the president started a new conflict spiking fertilizer costs by another 50%. Guess what? the American people are going to see that at the grocery store. And so the president’s promises of focusing on affordability costs, that was clearly a lie. The president’s promise of not getting involved in the Middle East conflict, another one, that’s a lie. And the prospects right now are not great for where this ends and how how much more blood and American treasure is expended…
- Rep. Vindman: “You’re seeing it at the grocery store…the gas pump…your 401k…The confidence in this administration being able to manage this conflict is quickly evaporating…”
Also see below: “Unfortunately, I don’t believe President Trump. Turns out he’s not very good at his job. In fact, he’s spending more time in Mar a Lago playing golf than he is devoting attention to this war. And it’s showing right now”
