Good riddance to Pam Bondi as Attorney General; she was absolutely HORRIBLE, quite possibly the worst Attorney General in U.S. history. So that’s the good news; the bad news is that Trump’s replacement for her won’t likely be any better. Anyway, with that, see below for reactions from Virginia elected officials to Pam Bondi’s firing by her even-worse-scumbag boss.
STATEMENT OF U.S. SEN. MARK R. WARNER
~ On the firing of Pam Bondi as Attorney General ~
WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) issued the following statement after President Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi:
“Attorney General Bondi’s firing follows her botched handling of the Epstein files — a failure that denied victims transparency and further undermined trust in our justice system.
“But this is bigger than one official. President Trump has repeatedly treated the Department of Justice like a political weapon — pressuring prosecutors, rewarding loyalty over independence, and using the machinery of federal law enforcement to pursue vengeance against his perceived enemies while shielding his allies from accountability. That pattern includes efforts to nationalize voting through an executive order that has been widely challenged as an unlawful attempt to override state authority, as well as the Fulton County raid tied to the president’s obsession with losing the 2020 election.
“This kind of abuse subverts the rule of law and corrodes the Justice Department’s ability to deliver impartial justice. When the Justice Department is distracted by politics and stripped of its credibility, it can’t do its core job of keeping Americans safe. Americans deserve a Justice Department that is actually focused on delivering justice, not on serving a president’s agenda of personal and political self-interest.”
Also from Sen. Mark Warner: “Pam Bondi severely obstructed and carelessly mishandled the Epstein Files – denying victims justice and accountability. She focused on weaponizing the DOJ for political retribution instead of working to keep Americans safe. It was long past time for her to go.”

Rep. Subramanyam Statement on Pam Bondi’s Firing
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), a member of the House Oversight Committee, released the following statement after reports that Attorney General Pam Bondi has been fired by President Trump:
“Pam Bondi may go down as one of the worst AGs in history. She openly violated the law repeatedly and aided one of the most corrupt administrations in modern history. She spent most of her time trying to weaponize the agency against anyone the President didn’t like, and she fired countless career prosecutors for simply following the law and upholding the Constitution. I had called for her impeachment, but this works too.
Despite all this, it appears she was fired for not passing enough loyalty tests. The Senate should reject the confirmation of any replacement who continues this administration’s lawlessness.
Pam Bondi may be leaving the Department of Justice, but she must still follow the law and respond to the Oversight Committee’s subpoena to be deposed about covering up Epstein files. I have a lot of questions. The American people deserve answers, and the Epstein survivors deserve justice.”

Walkinshaw Statement: Chairman Comer Must Not Let Pam Bondi Evade Testimony
Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman James R. Walkinshaw (VA-11), a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, released the following statement in response to Attorney General Pam Bondi’s firing.
“Former Attorney General Bondi and Todd Blanche have overseen one of the biggest cover-ups in modern American history.
Firing her does not end this. She remains legally obligated to appear before Congress and answer, under oath, for her failure to comply with the law. Her removal only increases the urgency for the Oversight Committee to fulfill its oversight obligations. Chairman Comer cannot look the other way or allow her to evade testimony before the Committee, as media reports indicate he is trying to do.
We need to know why the full Epstein files have still not been released. We need to know what decisions were made, by whom, and why survivors were put at risk. And we need to know why she gave special treatment to Ghislaine Maxwell.
I will not let this go. Oversight Democrats have been conducting a serious investigation and that work continues regardless of who has been fired or reassigned. No one gets to simply walk away from this.
The full Epstein files must be released immediately, and illegal redactions must be unredacted. There is no legitimate reason for further delay. The survivors who have waited years for justice — and the American people who deserve the truth — cannot wait any longer.”
