See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (7/27) in Virginia we’re at 691,018 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 31,208 hospitalizations and 11,515 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases was +835 (+0.12%) in the latest statistics, compared to +1,883 (+0.27%) yesterday, including over the weekend [NOTE: VDH isn’t updating on the weekends anymore, for whatever reasons…frustrating for keeping an accurate count of the statistics, and also premature given that the pandemic isn’t over!].  As for hospitalizations, they went up 55 (+0.18%) compared to +86 (+0.28%) yesterday, including over the weekend.  Deaths are reported +9 compared to +6 over the weekend. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 7,936,618 (up 10,200 from yesterday).
