Of Symbolism and Redemption

    I could not opposed Robert Byrd’s distant-past membership (in the KKK) any more than I do.  But if ever there were a symbol of redemption, it is Robert Byrd, the Senator who endorsed Barack Obama for president even as Hillary had just won West Virginia.
