Congressman Bennie Thompson Announced As A Blue Commonwealth Gala Featured Speaker
RICHMOND, VA – The Democratic Party of Virginia is excited to announce Congressman Bennie Thompson, who chaired the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack, as one of the featured speakers at the 2023 Blue Commonwealth Gala.
After the announcement of Congressman Thompson as a featured speaker, Susan Swecker, Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Virginia, shared the following statement:
“We are incredibly grateful to Congressman Bennie Thompson for his service on the January 6 Committee and we are excited to welcome him to the Commonwealth of Virginia next month at our Blue Commonwealth Gala. Along with former Congresswoman Luria, Congressman Thompson embodies the meaning of putting one’s country ahead of politics, and we couldn’t be more delighted to have him share his experience with us next month.”
