UPDATE 5:40 pm: According to Maureen Coffey, Susan Cunningham (anti-“Missing Middle,” ran as an independent three years ago against Democratic nominee Takis Karantonis) and Maureen Coffey (progressive, pro-“Missing Middle”) are the preliminary winners for the Democratic nominations for two Arlington County Board open seats. Good news that Coffey appears to have won!
It’s 5:23 pm, and we’re currently awaiting Arlington County Board Democratic primary election results, with Ranked Choice Voting calculations about to be run. I’ll update this post with more information as I get it. The candidates (with results on election night; note that none received enough votes, aka more than 33%, to win outright, so second and third place votes need to be reallocated) are Susan Cunningham (25%), Natalie Roy (24%), Maureen Coffey (22%), JD Spain (20%), Tony Weaver (5%) and Jonathan Dromgoole (4%).
