Video: At “Republicans for Harris” Event in Alexandria, Denver Riggleman, Barbara Comstock and Olivia Troye Show What True Patriotism Is – Defending Our Democracy Against the Mortal Threat from MAGA, Trump
Earlier today in Alexandria, two former Republican members of Congress – Barbara Comstock (R-VA10) and Denver Riggleman (R-VA05) – were joined by former Trump administration national security official Olivia Troye for a Republicans for Harris early voting event to (quoting the Harris-Walz campaign) “highlight the stakes of the election for Virginians, including for Republicans who are rejecting the extremism of Donald Trump and his Project 2025 agenda.” As the Harris-Walz press release stated:
“The speakers will underscore for their fellow Republicans how the Harris-Walz campaign has a place for everyone, as Vice President Harris continues to stand up for our freedoms and the rule of law, while Donald Trump is running on a dangerous Project 2025 agenda that threatens our democratic system and Virginians’ personal freedoms.
Early voting in Virginia began on Friday, September 20 and runs through November 2. Early voting is available Monday through Friday and on Saturday, October 26 and November 2. The deadline to register online or by mail is October 15. You can register and cast a ballot anytime during early voting and on Election Day. Virginians can also vote by mail by requesting an absentee ballot online, by mail, or in person today. Absentee ballots must be returned in person or postmarked by Election Day. “I don’t agree with Kamala Harris on everything, but I believe she’s a leader who will protect our democracy, who will stand with our allies, who will stand with President Zelenskyy and stand with Ukraine, stand against aggression, because these things are all tied together,” said former Virginia Congresswoman Barbara Comstock. “So there’s a lot there for Republicans to like. Sure, there’s going to be things you don’t like. Let me tell you, there’s a lot more things, like democracy, that you’re going to miss if Donald Trump is reelected.”
“Anybody who’s been found liable for sexual abuse, somebody that’s a felon, somebody that’s a conspiracy theorist, somebody who encouraged violence on January 6th, somebody who’s an apologist for Putin, somebody who is immoral, somebody who doesn’t understand foreign policy, and somebody who has such a bad connection to the truth — should not be President of the United States, and that’s why I’m supporting Kamala Harris and Tim Walz,” said former Virginia Congressman Denver Riggleman. “For me as somebody who served in the military, who was a U.S. Congressman, who worked at the highest levels in the Pentagon, I just don’t think we can wrap our arms around how dangerous Donald Trump is to our way of life and where we’re going right now.”

Not because we agree on everything, but because we believe in the fundamental thing of protecting our individual freedoms. A Trump-Vance presidency would be catastrophic here in Virginia.
