See below for video and a few highlights from the just-concluded “Country Over Party” event in Loudoun County – with Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-VA10), former Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA10), former Republican VA Del. David Ramadan and 2024 VA10 Democratic nominee Suhas Subramanyam – all campaigning together for the Harris-Walz ticket and for Subramanyam. Great stuff, and really highlights the bipartisan coalition that Kamala Harris has brought together this election in order to defend our democracy, defeat MAGA extremism, etc. Truly unprecedented times we’re living in…
- Former Rep. Comstock said she’s supporting Kamala Harris and Suhas Subramanyam, that we have a “winning coalition” of Democrats, independents and Republicans; that Trump is “vile and disgusting” and “can’t be back in the office.” Comstock also says says the CHIPS and Science Act is great for Virginia and the country, but that Trump and many other Republicans actually want to repeal it. Adds that Trump doesn’t understand that tariffs are taxes; that Project 2025 would be horrible for the US, devastating to NoVA. Says that in a democracy, you call your opponent and congratulate them when they beat you (which is what Comstock did when Wexton defeated her in November 2018). Says Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-VA10) has been “so brave and courageous.”
- Comstock introduces Wexton, who praises Comstock, Ramadan, saying their presence at this GOTV rally highlights the high stakes of this election, including our democracy. Says she’s hopeful about Tuesday.
- Subramanyam talks about “reaching across the aisle to get things done” for the sake of the community, the country. Says the best way to take Trump out of the GOP is to defeat Trump in this election!
