Debbie Wasserman Schultz and other Democrats were quick to pounce on Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s remark in Tampa on Thursday that he can relate to the jobless because “I’m also unemployed.”

“Being unemployed, Mr. Romney, is not a joke – not to my constituents in Florida or to millions of Americans across the country,” said Wasserman Schultz, a congresswoman from Weston and chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee. “Folks in my home state and across the country, who are struggling every day to make ends meet, do not need someone making light of their situation.”
Of course, a rich guy worth $200 million, from the party that is mostly responsible for creating the economic mess we’re in right now (and, as Jim Webb said in 2006, pushing policies that caused the rich to get richer, the poor to get poorer, and the middle class to get squeezed), would know…what exactly about being unemployed, struggling to make ends meet, understanding middle class and working class people, having any grip whatsoever on reality? Right, zippo.
