CREWE, VA — U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger yesterday hosted her third town hall event in Virginia’s Seventh District. During a public, community-focused event in Nottoway County, Spanberger answered questions and listened directly to the concerns and suggestions of Nottoway residents.

During the town hall held at Nottoway High School, Spanberger gave her constituents an update on her recent work, such as passing landmark campaign finance and ethics reform legislationstrengthening election security, co-leading a bipartisan bill to improve housing conditions for our military, and helping pass bipartisan legislation to require background checks on all firearm purchases. Spanberger also heard constituent concerns related to broadband internet, healthcare, internet security policy, and global climate change.

“As we continue hosting town halls across all 10 counties in the Seventh District, I appreciate the chance to hear directly from constituents about the issues that matter most to them,” said Spanberger. “Discussions like the one we had at tonight’s town hall are vital to my ability to vocally and faithfully serve Central Virginians and advocate for the needs of our communities. I will continue to put my constituents first—ahead of any special interest in Washington, and I look forward to continuing this level of strong communication in the coming months.”

Prior to the town hall, Spanberger spent the day in Nottoway meeting students and hearing from local educators. She toured Nottoway County middle and high schools, and she hosted a listening session with faculty. During the visit, Spanberger and her team also delivered books from the Library of Congress to donate to the school system.

Spanberger’s Nottoway County town hall event was her third town hall since her swearing-in ceremony in January. In February, Spanberger held town halls in Goochland County and Spotsylvania County.

Earlier this month, Spanberger announced seven additional town halls to be held in the remaining seven counties in Virginia’s Seventh District later this year.
