So, at this point (1/20), in Virginia we’re at 455,591 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 20,231 hospitalizations and 5,861 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 4,515 (+1.0%) in the latest statistics, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 4,526 (+1.0%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 165 (+0.8%), which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 84 (+0.4%). Deaths are reported +63, compared to +59 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 4,899,081 (up 20,924 from yesterday).
