With Virginia Holding Its Primaries Tomorrow, Where Have Statewide Candidates Received Their Funding (and Who’s Raised the Most)?

0

Where are Virginia’s statewide candidates getting their money? According to VPAP:

  • Republican Glenn Youngkin has raised the most money ($16.4 million) through May 27, although it’s mostly from himself. Democrat Terry McAuliffe is next, at $13.2 million, with McAuliffe leading in terms of small donors, business donors, partisan donors, in-state donors, out-of-state donors…basically everything except for single-interest donors, where Jennifer Carroll Foy (who’s raised $4.5 million overall) leads, partly due to money from Michael Bills’ “Clean Virginia.” Jennifer McClellan, who’s raised $2.1 million total, trails Carroll Foy, while Lee Carter and Justin Fairfax are far behind (with $241,550 and $55,993 raised, respectively).
  • For LG, Sam Rasoul leads with $1.8 million, about $1.1 million of which comes from out-of-state. Mark Levine’s next at $1.3 million, of which $890,000 is self financed. Andria McClellan ($885k) and Hala Ayala ($821k) are next in total fundraising, followed by Republican Winsome Sears ($489k), Sean Perryman ($398k) and Xavier Warren ($257k). Also note that Rasoul narrowly leads Andria McClellan in money from Virginia ($517k to $493k).
  • For AG, Mark Herring leads in total fundraising at $1.89 million, followed by Jay Jones at $1.86 million, and Republican Jason Miyares at $677k. Over half of Herring’s money comes from Virginians, with 39% of Jones’ money in the “Single Interest” category (mostly the $530k Jones has gotten from from Michael Bills’ “Clean Virginia”).
