The article “Coalition Forces Kill Top Isis Leaders in Oil Fight” included an interesting passage, as follows:

“By April of this year, ISIS’ monthly revenue had fallen by 30% — down from an estimated $80 million a month in mid-2015.
    ISIS
has ceded more than 22% of its territory to Kurdish, Syrian and Iraqi
forces over the past 19 months, according to IHS. During that time, the
population living under ISIS rule has fallen from 9 million to 6
    million.”

As I interpret that, ISIS’s monthly revenues are still $56 million A MONTH, and they still have a population of 6 MILLION under their control. Those are still very significant figures for a terrorist organization to have. Of course, $56 million a month equates to $672 million a year.

Since the U.S. and allies have total command of the air, the only conclusion I can draw is that we are deliberately choosing not to completely destroy all the oil-producing facilities under ISIS control.

I can maybe guess at some of the reasons for that. For one thing, completely destroying the economy of these 6 million people would undoubtedly force millions onto the road as refugees, and would leave them all dependent on foreign aid which would probably end up having to come mainly from the U.S.

Even so, we can’t let this go on for years – we need a quick knockout here.
