BREAKING: Q-Poll Has Perriello Leading Northam 25%-20%; Either Perriello or Northam Demolish Gillespie

Finally a high-quality poll of the Virginia governor’s race. Here are the highlights:

  • “In the Democratic primary for governor, former U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello has 25 percent to Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam’s 20 percent…Another 51 percent are undecided. “
  • “Gillespie leads the Republican primary with 28 percent, followed by Prince William County Supervisors Chair Corey Stewart at 12 percent, State Sen. Frank Wagner with 7 percent and 51 percent undecided.”
  • In the general election, “Perriello tops Gillespie 46 – 33 percent; Northam leads Gillespie 44 – 33 percent.” (note: if the final election results are anything like this, the Republicans are in big trouble in all those Virginia House of Delegates “Hillary Clinton districts” currently held by a Republican)
  • “None of the candidates is well known, as the number of Virginia voters who don’t know enough about the candidates to form an opinion of them ranges from 49 percent for Gillespie to 77 percent for Wagner.”
  • “Virginia voters disapprove 57 – 36 percent of the job President Donald Trump is doing” (again, horrible news for Gillespie and House of Delegates Republicans…sad!)
  • “Voters approve 52 – 32 percent of the job Gov. Terry McAuliffe is doing.”
  • “U.S. Sen. Mark Warner gets a 62 – 27 percent approval rating.”
  • Sen. Tim Kaine “has a 58 – 34 percent job approval and a 57 – 36 percent favorability rating”
  • Kaine leads huge over Laura Ingraham (56 – 35 percent) and Carly Fiorina (57 – 33 percent) in possible 2018 U.S. Senate matchups. I presume the numbers would be similar for Ewwwww Jackson as well. LOL

  • Corey Stewart’s crazy, misleading spin on the Q-Poll: 1) actually, among the most conservative voters, Gillespie’s still ahead of him by 8 points (27%-19%). Second, when Corey says “low unfavorables,” that’s sorta true, but it’s because only 27% of Republican voters have heard of him (vs. 52% who have heard of Gillespie). Third, of course it’s registered voters at this point, but the head-to-head vs. Gillespie is still among Republican registered voters, and Corey’s still getting his butt kicked. Finally, in the last Q-poll, Gillespie was up on Stewart 24%-7% (+17 points) and in this one it’s 28%-12% (+16 points), so yeah, I guess Stewart gained a point, but it’s a stretch to say that Stewart is gaining on Gillespie. #FAIL

  • Hahahaha, VA GOP Chair’s spin is even crazier than Corey Stewart’s! LOL
