Hilarious: VA Right-Wingnut Sen. Ryan McDougle Gets a Taste of His Own (Transvaginal) Medicine!

by: lowkell

Tue Mar 13, 2012 at 13:18:36 PM EDT

As you no doubt have heard by now (unless you've been out of the country, living under a rock, or comatose), Virginia Republicans have been on a rampage in recent months with regard to telling women, as well as their doctors, what should and should not be done to their bodies. Is it ironic or just pathetic that many of the leaders in this effort have been men like State Senator (and Republican Caucus Chairman) Ryan McDougle (R-Mechanicsville)? You decide. Anyway, it appears that McDougle's support for trans-vaginal ultrasound legislation has not gone over too well with at least a few folks, judging from the raunchy comments being left on his Facebook page (note: I presume he'll delete these soon enough, so I've taken screen shots, which you can see on the "flip."). Here are just a few "highlights" from the comments (note: these may not be suitable for minors, particularly squeamish people, prudes, right wingnuts, etc.). Enjoy! :)

*"Quick question for you-is it normal for my period to sync up with other female-bodied people? After doing the Vagina Monologues with 12 others, I got my period sooner! Gosh, ladybits are just so weird and confusing-but I don't have to worry about stuff like that now that you're looking out for me! ...And my vagina. And cervix. And uterus. And ovaries. Thanks for keeping my pretty little head from even having to think about 'down there', Senator Garrett!"

*"Hey, since you're so interested in my health, I just wanted to let you know that I've been really horny lately because I'm ovulating. But don't worry; I won't engage in dangerous heterosexual sex that could result in a pregnancy. This is because I'm a really fat and hairy Lesbian and I plan on having sex with women for the rest of my life, the really butchy dykey kind. The current object of my affections, and central character in the majority of the sexual fantasies at the moment, is Alison Bechdel (pictured below). Thanks for showing me the light in regards to my own sexual health, in affirming that having sex with men in more trouble than it's worth. The fact that women are sexier anyway, it just a happy coincidence."

*"Hello Senator. My daughter is still young, but will one day be a woman, and before I know it she'll be having her 'curse,' if ya know what I mean... it's not easy for kids, especially females, to have to deal with this fact of life. I don't raise my kids to be Christian, even though some of my best friends are, and they have family in Thailand, so essentially they're half Buddhist. My question to you is, is religion aside, what should she expect from a government here in the U.S. that wants to probe her vagina? How do I explain to her the whole 'good touch, bad touch' thing when politicians think it's acceptable to explore vaginas with plastic instruments? Also, is this part of a plan to create jobs somehow?"

P.S. Perhaps Dave Albo might be another Republican politician willing to answer your women's health questions, since he also claims to know a great deal about this topic (although, sadly, his wife won't get it on with him anymore).

Who coordinated this, but its awesome!

Kathy Byron and Jill Vogel (0.00 / 0)
should have a coordinated effort on their FB pages, as well.  They willing sponsored this legislation for their male counterparts in the GA, and since they are women they should have a much better understanding of the issues being brought to their attention.

Do you suppose that if those of the male persuasion (0.00 / 0)
did not employ the same organ for both insertion in vaginas and urination, they would not seem to regard women as so icky and dirty?

Does that one (icky)fact have something to do with all this cultural attitude toward s-e-x and the "health"  of those those of the female persuasion as being unclean, should be used only for pro-creation, never, ack! recreation?  No wonder papal knickers are in a swivet over "Immaculate Conception" (now there's an interesting choice of words). Senator McDougal? Sir?

Good Point (0.00 / 0)
Hmmm... I never thought of that. I've always assumed that they respond that way because of two things: The ability to have monthly periods and to give birth causes some sort of crazy fear within them as if they will become dirtied by the very thing they lust after, and their need to control women so that they can control where the sperm women receive comes from.

Men can really get hung up on sexual nuttiness. They react to homosexuality as if every guy just wants to jump them, but they seem to love watching two lesbians make love. They feel proud when their sons score as a teenager, but they react with horror when their daughters do the same thing.

The more fundamentalist their religion the crazier they react to women and sexuality. But, then, the fact that people insist on giving male gender to God, when gender is basically for procreation of species that use sexual reproduction, has never made sense to me.

I especially enjoyed (0.00 / 0)
(if that's the word) the downright pornographic debates in the House of Delegates and Senate when all these offensive bills came up on the floor. Talk about "X-rated!" Shocking, for such a fastidious bunch of ninnies.

I think (0.00 / 0)
They think its icky because they can't see it.  A penis just hangs right out there in the open, even uncircumcised there's no hiding it.  Vaginas on the other hand...

Outies vs Inies (0.00 / 0)
It's simply a case of men being outies, while we women are inies.

This applies equally to Ryan McDougle as well (0.00 / 0)

Bumper Sticker (0.00 / 0)
It shouldn't surprise anyone that the guy who has a bumper sticker with his own name on the back of his SUV would approve of such appalling legislation (he is so self-absorbed, one wonders how he has time for issues as peripheral to his life as the vagina).

Whoever organized it, well done.

I wouldn't be surprised if this finds a wider audience.

This should make Rachel's show. n/t (0.00 / 0)

I have not laughed so hard in a long time.

Whoever organized it - good job!

All the comments on McDoughle's page are being scrubbed as soon as they are written but Senator Black's Facebook page is still going.  Too funny.

BRAVO! (0.00 / 0)
I've been trying to let everyone I know about this offensive war against the women of Virginia.  I thought health care, jobs, a balanced budget, children and senior issues, etc., are what they are supposed to be focusing on.  Who the heck do these guys think they ARE?

Anyway, for all of you who plundered his FB page, BRAVO!  Everything has been deleted now, but you did good by doing screen prints so we could all enjoy.  Thank you SO MUCH! This is one of the best things I have seen regarding this issue, and you made my day!
