That’s right, if we could throw off Dominion Power’s top-down, centrally-planned, government-protected-monopoly stranglehold on our throats, Virginia could get around 1/3 of its electricity from rooftop solar power alone. Add in energy efficiency improvements, which could be enormous in energy-inefficient Virginia, plus offshore wind (which could supply 83% of Virginia’s power needs), and there would never be another need for a new fossil-fuel-fired power plant (or natural gas pipeline) in this state. Added benefits? How about no fossil-fuel pollution and its associated harm to human health, for starters? So what on earth are we waiting for? Here’s a big hint.
