This is funny in a dumbass, pathetic sorta way. Note that a vote for this bill (“Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative [RGGI]; prohibition on participation by Commonwealth”) earlier today was a vote to effectively kill Virginia’s participation in RGGI. A vote against this stupid bill was a vote to allow Gov. Northam to have Virginia join RGGI, as we should. Del. Terry Kilgore, of course, is from a part of the state – southwestern Virginia – that used to produce a lot of coal, but hasn’t produced much of it for years. Still, Del. Kilgore remains a loyal servant of the fossil fuel industry to this day…and clearly not a friend of the “northern states” like “Maryland, New Jersey, folks like that you all, that’s not who we need to be in with.” Del. Kilgore concludes with the zinger, “How many people do you know that want to go to New Jersey? C’mon y’all – not many.” Hardy har har!
