Video: Terry McAuliffe Says Democratic Politicians “Should NOT Be Talking About 2020,” Need to Focus on 2018 Elections

A few things jumped out at me from this interview: 1) Terry McAuliffe said that with Trump in the White House, white supremacists and neo-Nazis no longer feel the need to “wear hoods”; 2) McAuliffe ripped Trump or his “both sides” bullshit on the white supremacists and neo-Nazis; 3) McAuliffe said that allowing local authorities to be in control last year in Charlottesville was “not a good decision” and has now been changed; 4) regarding whether he’s worried about the direction of the Democratic Party, McAuliffe basically dodged, saying the message needs to be about jobs and that the focus needs to be on 2018; 5) on whether Trump should be impeached, McAuliffe said it’s something we should look at, that if Obama or Clinton had gone to Helsinki and done what Trump did, impeachment hearings would already have started; and last but not least 6) on Democrats gearing up for president, McAuliffe said, “I bristle when I hear about 2020…our future is on the line THIS year…these candidates should not be talking about 2020…” I couldn’t agree more with McAuliffe on that last point, and urge everyone to stay focused on the elections THIS year, on November 6, and then NEXT year in Virginia and elsewhere.
