Video: PW County School Board Chair Babur Lateef Reminds Virginians We Can Vote Early Absentee Starting Today

Thanks to Prince William County School Board Chair Babur Lateef for reminding us all that today is the first day Virginians can vote in person via absentee ballot. As Babur Lateef explains: “There are a number of reasons to vote early — if you’re a student and you’re away for school you can vote absentee; if you’re gonna be traveling out of town; there’s a full list of reasons for how you can vote early…at the Virginia Board of Elections website.” Also, “while you’re on that website you can…order a mail ballot to be sent to your house…you can vote by mail as well.”

Fairfax County: “In-person absentee voting began Sept. 21 at the Government Center and will expand to nine additional locations beginning Oct. 13. The last day to absentee vote in-person is Saturday, Nov. 3. There are 10 locations for absentee voting and weekday and Saturday hours for your convenience.”

Arlington County: 8 am-5 pm at the Office of Elections (2100 Clarendon Blvd Ste 320; ArlingtonVA 22201)

Prince William County:  Woodbridge Department of Motor Vehicles
(2731 Caton Hill Road, Woodbridge, VA 22192); Absentee Voting starts on 9/21 (Monday – Friday – 8:30am – 5:00pm; Saturday – 8:30am – 12:00pm; Sunday – Closed); Prince William Office of Elections (9250 Lee Ave Ste. 1, Manassas, VA 20110); Haymarket Gainesville Community Library (14780 Lightner Rd, Haymarket, VA 20169)

Alexandria: “Absentee voting is available in-person and by mail. Beginning Sept. 21, City of Alexandria residents can vote absentee at the Voter Registration Office (132 North Royal Street) Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Another option is voting at Beatley Library (5005 Duke Street) starting Oct. 27. Check for extended hours leading up to Election Day on Alexandria’s absentee voting websiteThe deadline for in-person absentee voting is 5 p.m.”

Roanoke City: “In-person absentee voting at the Office of Voter Registration and Elections begins and continues Monday through Friday. 8 am – 5 pm”

Virginia Beach: “Absentee In person voting for the November 6, 2018 General and Special Elections begins on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 8:00am and ends on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 5:00pm in our office at the Municipal Center. Tuesday, October 30, 2018​ at 5:00pm is the deadline to submit an absentee ballot application requesting a ballot be mailed to you. Check out the 2018 Absentee Voting & Election Schedule for details on additional times and locations. Click here for​ information if you’d like your ballot mailed to you.​ The first ballots will be mailed out on or about September 21​, 2018.”
