See below for a bunch of polls on Virginia House of Delegates Democratic primaries around the Commonwealth. Who do you prefer? Weigh in, below, and also please let us know (in the comments section) *why* you support a particular candidate. Thanks. I’ll keep these up until Thursday…enjoy!
P.S. Note that the filing deadline for the June 11 primaries is this Thursday at 5 pm.
House District 57 (Charlottesville City, Albemarle County; 79% Northam district): Democrats Sally Hudson and Kathy Galvin are running for the seat currently held by Del. David Toscano (D), who has announced his retirement.
House District 62 (Chesterfield, Henrico, Prince George County and Hopewell City; 49% Gillespie/Northam district): Republican incumbent Del. Riley Ingram is retiring; a Republican and two Democrats, Tavorise Marks and Lindsey Dougherty, are running.
House District 87 (Loudoun, Prince William Counties; 64% Northam district): This seat is being vacated after incumbent Del. John Bell (D) decided to run for State Senate. Democrats Suhas Subramanyam, Hassan Ahmad and Akshay Bhamidipati are running for the nomination.
House District 88 (Spotsylvania, Stafford, Fauquier Counties and Fredericksburg City; 54% Ed Gillespie district): Republican incumbent Mark Cole is being challenged by Democrats Jess Foster and Kecia S. Evans.
House District 91 (Hampton City, York County, Poquoson City; 51% Ed Gillespie district): Republican incumbent Del. Gordon Helsel is retiring, leaving this seat open. Also note that if the new, non-racially-“packed” map holds, this district will become much more Democratic. Democrats Michael Wade and Martha Mugler are running for the nomination.
House District 96 (James City County, York County; 53% Gillespie district): Republican incumbent Brenda Pogge has announced she’s retiring. Democrats Rebecca Leser, Mark Downey and Chris Mayfield are running for the nomination.
