“In the times of uncertainty and fear, we must not allow ourselves to marginalize or fearmonger Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders due to the misconceived notions of the origins of COVID-19 in America. With derogatory and xenophobic references about the virus being passed down from the White House, now is the time to stand together in our own communities to push back against blatant acts of hatred and bigotry. We encourage members of our organization and our communities to demonstrate kindness, compassion, and empathy to all of our AAPI communities. We are all in this together and we need to show strength through unity, not fear through division.”
