See below for key quotes from the happy hour discussion:

“We need someone who can step in the fold, who can actually bring a fix to the way our government operates, the way our health care system operates, and also, a fix to our economy that also will be in shambles as well. We need someone who’s going to be willing to be inclusive… and go put their necks out for black and brown people and go the extra mile to ensure this country lives up to what it is supposed to be. And we’re still waiting for that. But I think November is around the corner. And that, for us, for everyone in this country, will be a day of reckoning. So, I know this is a happy hour tonight, but also I know this is a difficult time to be happy. It’s a difficult time in this country to be happy right now with all the uncertainty out there. But the most sure thing for me is that I know who I’m going to vote for in November, and I’m going to vote for Joe Biden. And I hope you do as well,” said Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney.

“Young people like myself, we have lived through a financial collapse — like, we came of age in the Great Recession. And now we’re being dealt another blow. Folks younger than us in Generation Z, they are also feeling the brunt of this. It is us who, in this pandemic, because of the inequities that exist in our society, are the people that have to deal with them. You know, we’re gonna have to help clean this mess up. We’re gonna be here 40, 50, 60 years down the road, God willing, if we address climate change, and we need to have a hand in what a recovery looks like, and a recovery needs to speak specifically to young people, specifically to young people, especially of color. And you know, that is what our campaign is out to do, but we can’t do it without you,” said Biden for President senior advisor Symone Sanders.
