No Excuse: New Ad in VA-07 Hits Freitas for Votes Against Kids With Autism, Background Checks for Daycare Workers

House Majority PAC is releasing a new ad in Virginia’s 7th District, hitting Nick Freitas for his votes against healthcare for kids with autism and background checks for daycare workers–two bills that were supported by large bipartisan majorities in the Virginia House of Delegates.

“Literally everyone in the House of Delegates could agree on expanding healthcare for kids with autism, and Nick Freitas was the only Delegate to vote against it. Twice,” said Abby Curran Horrell, executive director of House Majority PAC. “Virginia’s kids and families need a member of Congress who will fight to keep them healthy and safe, but Nick Freitas just isn’t that guy. He also voted against a bill with large bipartisan support that would institute background checks for daycare workers–a commonsense effort to keep kids safe. If Nick Freitas isn’t working to protect families, who is he working for?”

The ad is available here and the script is below. The ad will run in Richmond and is supported by a budget of $380,000.

“No Excuse”

TV :30

Sometimes there’s no excuse.

Nick Freitas was the only Virginia delegate – in either party — to vote against health insurance coverage for children with autism.

Twice.

He even voted against background checks for daycare employees … a bill supported by both parties because it protects our kids.

Nick Freitas keeps putting our children at risk …

And there’s no excuse for that.
