Elaine for Congress Launches “Out Here” TV Ad Highlighting Congresswoman Luria’s Commitment to Small Businesses in Coastal Virginia
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Today, the Elaine for Congress campaign released another television ad highlighting Congresswoman Elaine Luria’s dedication to helping our small businesses recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, especially fisheries and aquaculture.
“I’ve worked with Democrats and Republicans to deliver real relief to watermen during this pandemic,” said Congresswoman Elaine Luria. “Virginia’s Coastline plays a crucial role in our local economy and I will continue to make sure they can weather any storm.”
Congresswoman Luria has been a consistent advocate for the aquaculture and seafood industries. She fought to secure $300 million for the fishery and aquaculture industries in the CARES Act, and set up a small business hotline to help small business owners secure loans through the Paycheck Protection Program.
Congresswoman Elaine Luria represents Virginia’s Second Congressional District, which includes all of Accomack and Northampton Counties, the cities of Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, as well as portions of Norfolk City, Hampton, and York and James City Counties. Congresswoman Luria serves on the House Armed Services Committee where she is Vice-Chair of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee and on the House Veterans Affairs Committee where she is the Chair of the Disability and Memorial Assistance Subcommittee. In 2018, Elaine Luria flipped VA-02 from a Republican incumbent and is a current Frontline incumbent.
