Monday (12/7) Virginia Data on COVID-19: 2-Day (7,697), 3-Day (11,490), 10-Day (28,426) New Cases All Hit Record Highs

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (12/7), in Virginia we’re at 258,870 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 15,356 hospitalizations and 4,208 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 3,817 (+1.5%) in the latest statistics, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 3,880 (+1.5%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 61 (+0.4%), which is a slightly faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 40 (+0.3%).  Deaths are reported +8, compared to +3 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 3,522,052 (up 29,851 from yesterday).
