So, at this point (12/2), in Virginia we’re at 242,480 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 14,883 hospitalizations and 4,113 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 2,417 (+1.0%) in the latest statistics, which is a slightly faster rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 2,228 (+0.9%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 158 (+1.1%), which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 106 (+0.7%). Deaths are reported +20, compared to +31 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 3,350,896 (up 9,470 from yesterday).
