A few days ago (on 10/16 in the parking lot of Sal’s Italian Restaurant in Radford), as you can see, a young woman named Amy attempted to ask Republican House of Delegates candidate Jason Ballard why he was campaigning with Wren Williams, “a Big Lie conspiracy theorist who led Donald Trump’s effort to overturn Wisconsin.” As you can see from the following video and transcript, Ballard – who is running against Del. Chris Hurst (D-HD12) – really, really didn’t want to answer the question or talk to Amy about why he was campaigning with Williams.
So instead of discussing this, Ballard walked away and turned it over to Williams, who explained how he “went to Wisconsin to help Donald Trump with the recount,” then made the 100%/wildly false claim that “What we found in Wisconsin was that over 220,000 ballots were cast illegally based on different versions of law that they did…that they violated” (in fact, as this fact check found: “There is no evidence all the ballots in question here all backed Biden, and the description of the court ruling is simply wrong. The court expressly ruled against an attempt to throw out indefinitely confined votes en masse, saying votes were only invalid if the individual casting them falsely claimed that status. And that’s a determination that has to be made on a case-by-case basis.”). Then, asked about whether he believes the election in Virginia – which was found to be HIGHLY successful and secure, particularly given all the challenges of COVID-19, high turnout, etc. – Williams responded, “Excuse me?” and then “We are going to fix that.”
So…yeah, this guy Wren Williams is a 2020 election “Big Lie” believer/promoter all the way. Yet not only isn’t he persona non grata in the VA GOP, here he is on video campaigning with HD12 GOP candidate Jason Ballard *and* VA House GOP Leader Todd Gilbert. On that latter point, just imagine if people like Williams and Ballard are elected on 11/2 and end up making Gilbert Speaker of the House? Nightmare, right? Which is why we’d better make *DAMN* sure that we don’t allow this to happen, by turning out in droves on or before 11/2 to vote *Democratic* up and down the ballot, including for excellent Democratic delegates like Chris Hurst!

Q: Hi, Mr. Ballard. Long time, no see. Amy.
Ballard: Hey, long time, no see. How are you?
Q: I just wanted to ask you why you are running with a candidate who wanted to overturn the 2020 election?
Ballard: Who—you talking about Wren? Well, there he is. Go ask him.
Q: I am asking you why you are campaigning…
Ballard: But, there’s Wren. If you want to ask him. You can ask him.
Q: No, I am asking you, Sir.
Ballard: [pointing to and waving at my phone] Here, we’ll say hello. Hi!
Williams: [Approaches and instructs Ballard to walk away.]
Q: I am asking Mr. Ballard. My question is not for you. … I am asking him why he is campaigning with a candidate who wanted to overturn… who believes that the 2020 election was fraudulent and wanted to overturn it.
Williams: [00:00:43] I went to Wisconsin to help Donald Trump with the recount. It was Trump versus Biden. It was a state recount. It was something that he was allowed by law to do. What we found in Wisconsin was that over 220,000 ballots were cast illegally based on different versions of law that they did…that they violated. So that is what happened in Wisconsin. It happened in several other states.
Q: Didn’t the court say that there wasn’t any fraud?
Williams: There were 3 out of 7 Wisconsin Supreme Court justices who agreed with us that there was illegal ballots being cast in Wisconsin.
Q: …but the majority…
Williams: Hold on. Over 75,000 ballots— under those three Supreme Court justices agreed that they were cast illegally. The mainstream media would have you believe that all these cases were tossed and fraudulent, et cetera. But there were many justices who believe that some of these things were done illegally. And that’s a problem for America.
Q: And so do you believe in the integrity of the elections in Virginia?
Williams: Excuse me?
…
Q: Do you believe in the integrity of elections in Virginia?
…
Williams: We are going to fix that.
