Another major potential Democratic opponent for Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA07), State Senator Jeremy McPike, is saying that he will NOT be running, and sounds like he’s backing Rep. Spanberger for reelection. With that, it seems like Rep. Spanberger has gone a long way towards “clearing the field” of potential Democratic primary opponents, although I haven’t heard any definitive word from at least three – Del. Elizabeth Guzman, Prince William County School Board Chair Babur Lateef and Prince William County Chair Ann Wheeler. Still, as of now, it’s looking pretty solid for Spanberger for the VA07 Democratic nomination, especially given that the district has been drastically reconfigured in the redistricting process, with 35.5% of it now made up of Prince William County (where State Sen. McPike, Del. Guzman, Chair Wheeler and School Board Chair Lateef are all from)…
