"This was a rubber stamping by Youngkin’s spineless puppets in the House of Delegates"

Thanks to VAPLAN/Cindy for covering today’s meeting of the Virginia House Finance Committee, in which – as Democratic Leader Del. Eileen Filler-Corn put it – “we saw Republican delegates vote down @VAHouseDems’ proposal to give immediate relief to Virginia drivers only.” And as VAPLAN explains:

  • “House GOP refers gas tax holiday bill to Appropriations. As expected, this was a rubber stamping by Youngkin’s spineless puppets in the House of Delegates.
  • Every Republican in House Finance votes against giving an instant $50 gas rebate to every driver in Virginia. Simple and direct to their pockets—not a hope and prayer that gas retailers share the economic rents of a gas tax holiday w consumers, despite evidence this doesn’t work.”
  • “Transportation expert says: Of most states proposing gas tax holidays, Georgia, Maryland, others have backfilled the proposal—Virginia did not.

Pathetic as usual by Virginia Republicans…
