Congresswoman Luria Releases Two TV Ads, Highlighting Her Work to Pass the PACT Act and Jen Kiggans’ Efforts to Ban Abortion
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Today, 20-year Navy veteran and small business owner Congresswoman Elaine Luria (VA-02) launched “Brandon” and “Cheryl,” highlighting her work in expanding health care services and benefits for veterans exposed to toxic substances and Jen Kiggans’ efforts to allow politicians to ban abortion in all cases, including rape and incest.
“From fighting for the largest expansion of veteran health care services in the VA’s history to protecting a woman’s right to choose, delivering for Coastal Virginians remains my top priority in Congress,” Congresswoman Luria said. “Jen Kiggans has prioritized attacking the rights of Virginia women and making health care less accessible, but more expensive. I will always put Coastal Virginians and their families first.”
“Cheryl” highlights Cheryl Mercer, a lifelong Republican and former Vice President of the Virginia Beach Republican Women’s Association, who believes that the government should have no place in a woman’s right to choose.
“Brandon” features Brandon Hutchins, who served as a Navy Medic from 1999-2010 and was deployed to Iraq for nearly a year. The ad highlights Congresswoman Luria’s efforts to pass the PACT Act, which expanded health care and benefits to veterans exposed to toxic substances and burn pits and included the Congresswoman’s COVENANT Act and Veterans Disability Claims Notification Improvement Act.
Jen Kiggans applauded the Supreme Court decision that overturned the right to choose for millions of women across the country and has said she is “100%, unapologetically pro-life.” She has claimed that ending access to abortion was her motivation to run for office and she pledged to prioritize “the right to life.” Kiggans also supports allowing states to ban abortion without exceptions.
