DCCC Releases New TV Ad in VA-07: “Claims”

The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for VA-07, “Claims,” highlighting Vega’s disgraceful, dangerous comments suggesting that pregnancy is less likely after rape.

The ad warns viewers that even though Yesli Vega is a police officer who should want to protect survivors, she doubted the likelihood of pregnancy after a woman is raped. The ad also points out that Vega would support allowing states to ban abortion with no exceptions for rape, incest, or to save a woman’s life.

The ad – the third to run in VA-07 from the DCCC IE – is airing in the DC and Charlottesville media markets beginning today and are part of the committee’s previously announced investments in key battleground districts.

“CLAIMS” TRANSCRIPT:

As a police officer who claims to have worked with rape victims, Republican Yesli Vega should want to protect survivors.

But Vega was caught on tape doubting whether women can get pregnant from rape…because it’s not happening organically.

And while our rights are under attack, Vega supports letting states ban abortion with no exceptions for rape, incest or to save a woman’s life.

Virginia women can’t trust Yesli Vega.

This November, say NO to Yesli Vega.
